Hurricane Protection

Crimsafe® can protect your home against hurricane damage, while still letting light in and allowing you to view the outdoors. It is tested to withstand winds up to 200 MPH/322KPH, and missile impact up to 150 MPH/241KPH. And, unlike storm panels, Crimsafe is installed in place. There is no need to spend tense moments just before a storm climbing up on ladders and hammering boards into place.

HOW CRIMSAFE PROTECTS FROM IMPACT

At impact the hooking feature of the patented screw-clampTM (which runs along every edge of the product) levers into the aluminium frame and spreads the load right around the perimeter of the product, rather than allowing the force to be concentrated at the point of impact. The mechanical fastening of the clamp to the mesh also resists the tendency of the mesh to be pulled out of the frame. These features permit Crimsafe® to withstand enormous force.

Security

Crimsafe provides security for both home and commercial applications. Our patented system stops break-ins like no other security screen.

The mesh is 'screw-clamped' so it can't be kicked out.

This system is internationally patented and unique. Only Crimsafe® features screws driven through both the clamp and the mesh and right into the frame on the other side, providing incredible strength. READ MORE ABOUT OUR SCREW CLAMPED SYSTEM.

Tamper-Proof Screws

Crimsafe uses tamper-proof screws that require a specially designed screwdriver, unique to Crimsafe, for installation.

304 Security Steel

Research shows that the most common method of entry through security screens is a well-placed series of kicks that bust the screen apart. That won't work with Crimsafe. You can kick at Crimsafe's Tensile Tuff mesh repeatedly, and you will definitely injure yourself before you break through it. It is also almost impossible to cut through Crimsafe's heavy duty mesh.

Safe from Prying

Our hinged security doors are manufactured with mid-rails and triple-locks as a standard feature. A mid-rail greatly enhances a door's strength, and prevents the lever from damaging the lock to the extent that it breaks. A triple-locking system means added security too.

Our Safe-S-Cape emergency exit products feature a special "Triple Anti-Crowbar System" designed to foil any prying attack. A burglar must get through 3 physical barriers on the exterior of the Safe-S-Cape to get at the lock. It's next to impossible.

Energy Savings from Solar Shading

Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC)

Crimsafe Security Screens are the best product to protect your home or property from being broken into by burglars, but did you know that they are just as good at protecting your home from overheating?

Adding Crimsafe screens on your windows and doors can greatly reduce the amount of heat entering your home, therefore reducing the need to run the air-conditioning and thus reducing your energy costs. In fact when a Crimsafe screen is added over the whole window, it can improve the windows ability to block solar radiation by up to 52%!

Windows play a very important role in the fabric of our homes. They allow in the light, control airflow, and provide views that connect our internal living space with the outdoors. However, ordinary windows can also represent a major source of unwanted heat gain in summer and significant heat loss in winter. Solar Heat Gain

Every window in the Australian building market has been rated by the Window Energy Rating Scheme (WERS for more information see www.wers.net) for its annual energy impact on a whole house, in any climate of Australia.

A major element of determining a windows' WERS rating is its Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC). Basically, the SHGC is the measure of how well a window blocks heat caused by sunlight. The lower the value of a window's SHGC, the less solar heat it transmits.

Crimsafe Security Screens, when applied over the whole area of a single glazed window can improve the SHGC of the window by 52%. Considering that up to 40% of a home's energy for cooling or heating is lost or gained through windows this can represent a huge saving on your energy bill and a dramatic cut in your greenhouse gas emissions.
